The Primary School offers a strong academic and educational foundation by enriching and Biblically integrating the national (CAPS) curriculum. Life and Faith Studies, Arts and Culture Education (Including Class Music), Design and Technology, Physical Education, Media Studies and relevant Remedial Tuition are part of the Harvest experience. Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum (CAPS) with a clear understanding of the need to integrate Biblical Truth into all we teach and do. We consider the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values and attitudes an important part of the education process.

Learning support is provided through regular Academic Reviews where areas of concern are identified. Referral to the necessary professional therapists takes place through the Remedial department.
Individual and small group lessons are offered in piano, keyboard, recorder, guitar (bass, classical and light accompaniment), violin, flute, saxophone, voice and drums. As proficiency grows learners may join the junior music ensemble. The choir’s focus is on music relevant to the age and skills of the learners. They are also prepared for music examinations and take part in eisteddfods. Extra opportunities for performance are afforded by various concerts throughout the year.

Computer classes equip learners with the necessary skills to function in today’s technological world by means of a curriculum designed to take them beyond basic computer literacy. This serves as a foundation for the work taught in the High School.
Design and Technology
Grade 4-7 learners engage in this very creative learning area, investigating, designing, making, evaluating and communicating. They are also taught to understand and apply their technological knowledge ethically and responsibly. The inter-relationship between science, technology, society and the environment is also emphasized.
Math’s Challenge, Spelling BEE & General knowledge
A Maths Challenge, Spelling BEE and General knowledge is held each year during the second term. These three events centre on enjoyable and interesting ways in which to do maths, spelling and general knowledge. Fundamental to the educational process the desire is to motivate our pupils to approach the work they do with confidence.
