Welcome Letter

Welcome to Harvest Christian School. I trust that as you browse through the pages that reflect something of our school you will be encouraged and inspired by what God has done and is doing in this special place.

Harvest Christian School is a school that believes God sent His only son into this world to give us a chance of everlasting life. To all those who choose Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, God promises a new life on earth and an eternal life after death. What a joy and privilege it is to share and model this truth in our school community.

The school is committed to providing a sound academic education in a co-educational and Christ-centred environment of love, kindness and gentleness. Excellent and committed teachers who strive to be exciting, challenging and relevant, provide a holistic and biblically integrated education. A biblically integrated education is taught and modelled through biblical teaching and a continuous stiving towards emulating Jesus as a ‘way of life’. Our challenge, as a school, is to balance the needs of society with the development of a biblical worldview that will direct the path of each child as they mature into the world in which they live. We will continue to strive to send Christian leaders into the world, who are Kingdom servants, willing to give of themselves for the joy and benefit of others as they journey on the path God has destined for them.

Harvest Christian School was founded by Harvest Church in 1987 to serve the families of the church in the provision of a Christ-centered education. From humble beginnings in the church facility, the school flowed over into the properties adjacent to the church. As the finances have allowed, the school has grown to incorporate a Pre-primary, Primary and High School facility. Whilst there is much room for the development of specialist facilities, the school will continue to trust God for the growth of His school in all areas.

Our mission states that we exist to serve the Christian family with whom we partner to train and disciple young people in a biblical worldview for growth, excellence and influence. Harvest Christian School is about partnerships – between parents and the School and between each pupil and the teachers. This is illustrated in the following poem:

PARTNERS IN EDUCATION

I dreamed I stood in a studio and watched two sculptors there;
The clay they used was a young child’s mind and they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher, the tools he used were books and music and art;
One was a parent with a guiding hand and a gentle and loving heart.
Day after day the teacher toiled with touch that was deft and sure;
While the parent laboured by his side and polished and smoothed it ‘er.
And when at last their task was done and they proud of what they had wrought,
For the things they had moulded into the child could neither be sold or bought,
And each agreed he would have failed if he had worked alone,
For behind the parent stood the school and behind the teacher the home.

Our prayer at school is that each pupil, each family and each teacher, will not only enjoy a happy and rewarding school experience, but also explore and delight in all that God has planned for our lives.

Harvest Christian School is governed by the School Governing Body and managed by the Headmaster and staff

Please feel free to contact the school directly should you have any enquiries.
