Harvest Christian School exists to serve the Christian family with whom we partner to train, educate and disciple young people in a Biblical Worldview to fulfill the Great Commission.
God continues to call Harvest Christian School to prepare young hearts and minds for His service in our world. We aim to send men and women into our nation and the nations of the world with hearts for the gospel of Jesus Christ, modelling a lifestyle that reflects a relationship with the living God and a love for all people. Harvest Christian School will continue striving for an excellent, Christ-centred and holistic education. We will continue to partner with Harvest Church as we serve God in our local community.
Our current enrollment exceeds 430 students with the goal of growing to about 600 and maintaining an average class size of 23 students (less in the Pre-School). Our pioneering growth will continue to be matched by our delivery in academic, sporting, cultural and outreach activities. We believe that we are to be distinctively Christian and educationally excellent.
The Pre-Primary School offers a happy, nurturing Christian environment with loving, professional teachers. Our smaller groups and high staff complement help us to meet the individual needs of each pupil. Each level operates on excellent and proven Bible-based and age-appropriate curricula. We aim to develop the whole child, including spiritual growth and character formation. The secure, stimulating environment, with consistent discipline and clear boundaries, ensures the safety and well-being of each child.
The Primary School offers a strong academic foundation by enriching and Biblically integrating the national curriculum. Life and Faith Studies, Arts and Culture Education (including Class Music), Design and Technology, Physical Education, Media Studies and relevant remedial tuition are part of the Harvest experience. A holistic educational experience includes sport, cultural activities and outreach. A varied number of extra-curricular activities also serve to enhance a well-balanced educational experience. The favourable teacher learner ratio caters for superior opportunities to impart the values and attitudes that undergird the school’s mission statement.
The internationally benchmarked and accepted Independent Examinations Board (IEB) curriculum gives graduates a head start in life. Students are well-equipped to gain access to and flourish at tertiary institutions locally and abroad, as well as meet the demands of the working world. Students are supported by smaller classes and skilled subject specialists who are pastorally motivated. Biblical integration, student leadership opportunities, missions, mentoring, reward, recognition, sporting and cultural excellence, responsibility and accountability, and a healthy family spirit characterise our growing High School community.
